Costa Mesa, CA (BUSINESS WIRE) – Dr. Roman Kownacki, an esteemed physician and thought leader in occupational medicine, has joined Agile Occupational Medicine as Vice President of Quality Assurance. Dr. Kownacki will focus on keeping Agile patient-centric while allowing physician autonomy to make the best occupational medicine clinical decisions for the best patient outcome.

Dr. Kownacki most recently served as Chief of Occupational Medicine for Kaiser Permanente Richmond. Before that, he served on the Permanente Medical Group Board of Directors and was Medical Director of Northern California Occupational Health, overseeing medical services, physicians, and staff at numerous clinics that were a part of the Permanente Medical Group, which serves over 4.6 million patients in Northern California with 9,500 physicians and 42,000 nurses.

Roman P. Kownacki, MD, MPH, FACOEM received his medical degree from Drexel University’s Hahnemann School of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He completed his residency in Occupational Medicine at the University of Southern California and a Master’s in Public Health from UCLA. He is a past President of the Western Occupational and Environmental Association. He previously served on the California Medical Association Workers’ Compensation Technical Advisory Committee and on the Workers Compensation Research Institute California Technical Advisory Committee. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine.
